Job summary

Michael Page is recruiting for a hands-on accountant in Kraków. The role combines day-to-day accounting oversight with participation in CAPEX forecasting, tax compliance, and audit coordination within an international setting.

The position features a hybrid working model (3 days in the office, 2 days remote) and a stable employment environment. You will work with an experienced finance team, utilize advanced Excel, and contribute to improving processes while supporting VAT and CIT reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or similar role.
• Knowledge of Polish accounting standards and VAT/CIT regulations.
• Strong financial controls and reporting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills and MS Office proficiency.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Proactive and detail-oriented with process improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting activities in compliance with standards.
• Support CAPEX accounting, cost allocation, and reporting.
• Review transactions and maintain accuracy of records.
• Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Support VAT and CIT declarations and tax compliance.

Job Description

• Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and statutory requirements.
• Support the accounting, reconciliation, monitoring, and forecasting of capital expenditures (CAPEX), ensuring accurate project cost allocation and reporting.
• Review and verify financial transactions, maintaining the accuracy and integrity of accounting records and financial data.
• Participate in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, providing reliable information for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support tax compliance activities, including the preparation of VAT and CIT declarations, as well as ensuring adherence to applicable regulations.
• Coordinate and provide documentation for internal and external audits, acting as a key contact for audit-related inquiries.
• Monitor changes in accounting, tax, and financial regulations and contribute to the implementation of necessary updates within the organization.
• Contribute to maintaining strong financial controls, compliance standards, and reporting accuracy across the organization.

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a similar position.
• Practical knowledge of Polish accounting standards and tax regulations, particularly VAT and CIT.
• Very good understanding of financial controls and reporting processes.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency in MS Office.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken, enabling daily collaboration in an international environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive attitude, attention to detail, and willingness to improve processes.
