Job summary

Piletilevi AS is seeking a strong Head of Accounting to lead our finance function in Poland, reporting to the Management Board and PLG Group Finance team. This hands-on role requires deep accounting expertise, process organization, and proactive problem solving to bring structure, transparency and efficiency to daily operations.

You will own month- and year-end closings, oversee statutory and management reporting, VAT and CIT compliance, and manage a finance team in a growing international

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as Chief Accountant or senior finance lead.
• Excellent knowledge of Polish accounting and tax regulations.
• Organised, reliable and proactive with strong communication.
• Direct and clear communication; ownership to drive topics to completion.
• Advanced Excel and experience with accounting software (Comarch XL is a plus).
• Fluent Polish and good corporate English (B2) used in management.

Responsibilities

• Full ownership of accounting and month/year-end closings.
• Preparation and supervision of statutory and management reporting.
• VAT, CIT and other tax compliance responsibilities.
• Ensure accounting correctness, reconciliations and documentation flow.
• Work closely with auditors, tax advisors and external institutions.
• Improve financial processes, controls and reporting quality.
• Support automation and process improvements.
• Lead and support the finance team.
• Involvement in solving operational and accounting issues.

We are looking for a strong Head of Accounting who is not afraid of responsibility, understands both accounting and business realities, and wants to help build a stable, well-organised finance function in a growing company.

This is a hands-on role.

We are looking for a person who understands accounting deeply, can organise processes, solve problems independently and work closely with the business and the team.

You will work directly with the Management Board and PLG Group Finance team, helping bring more structure, predictability and transparency into everyday operations.

Your responsibilities

• Full ownership of accounting and month/year-end closings.

• Responsibility for VAT, CIT and other tax compliance.
• Ensuring accounting correctness, reconciliations and proper documentation flow.
• Working closely with auditors, tax advisors and external institutions.

• Leading and supporting a finance team.
• Active involvement in solving operational and accounting issues - not only supervising them.
• Helping organize and strengthen the finance function in a growing international environment.

We expect from you

• Strong practical experience as Chief Accountant or senior finance lead (5+ years).
• Understanding of Polish accounting and tax regulations very well.
• Being organized, reliable and proactive.
• Direct and clear communication.
• Ownership and personally driving topics to completion.
• Very good Excel skills and experience with accounting systems (Comarch XL would be an advantage).
• Fluent Polish and good (B2) corporate English (used in management communication).
