Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a security-focused engineer in Kraków to build and maintain core security components using Go and/or C++.

You will work across design, implementation, and testing to ensure secure, scalable product functionality for SaaS and on-prem offerings. You will collaborate with senior engineers, product management, and support to improve system behavior, deliver customer value, and grow ownership of broader technical areas over time.

Qualifications

• Must have production software experience in Go and/or C++.
• Strong understanding of secure coding and debugging.
• Solid Unix/Linux and networking knowledge, with scripting skills.
• Experience applying cybersecurity fundamentals in software.
• Experience with GenAI tools in engineering workflows.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, debug, and maintain core security components using Go and/or C++.
• Deliver features, fixes, enhancements, and automation from design to completion.
• Write clean, secure code with unit/integration tests to improve reliability.
• Investigate issues, identify root causes, and contribute durable fixes.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call support and broader Ops/SRE responsibilities.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, PM, support, and partners to grow ownership.
