Job summary
Hitachi Energy in Kraków, Poland, is seeking a Researcher with expertise in experimental software engineering. You will join a dynamic team to create, test and validate new technologies for the energy transition.
You will lead research projects, improve software development practices, and collaborate with global teams, universities, startups and vendors. A PhD and strong methodologies are required; AI/ML experience is a plus.
Qualifications
- PhD in software engineering or related field.
- Deep familiarity with modern software development methodologies.
- Experience with multiple programming languages and paradigms.
- Experience with modern SW development lifecycle tooling.
- Publications, design of experiments, and statistical analysis experience.
- Some software development experience, ideally in product development.
- Experience with formal methods or advanced SW practices is beneficial.
- Experience with AI and generative AI for SW engineering is beneficial.
- Team-oriented, innovative and strategic working style.
Responsibilities
- Propose, contribute to and lead research projects on new software development methodologies and tools.
- Improve SW development practices in product development and research tooling, including AI/ML.
- Select and assess commercial tools or develop custom SW engineering tooling.
- Collaborate with global Hitachi Energy researchers and business units to solve real-world challenges.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state-of-the-art software development methods and tools.
- Network within the company and share knowledge and expertise.
- Collaborate with universities, startups and vendors.
- Disseminate results in publications, patents, and technical reports.
