Job summary

The Scituate School Department is seeking a reliable Custodian for 40 hours per week to maintain cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of district facilities. The role requires performing custodial, maintenance, and facility support duties across multiple campuses in North Scituate, RI.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to perform custodial and cleaning duties in a school environment.
• Ability to operate custodial equipment and machinery safely.
• Willingness to travel between district sites if required.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, and maintain classrooms, offices, hallways, cafeterias, gymnasiums, restrooms, and other areas.
• Operate custodial equipment and perform routine maintenance tasks.
• Assist with grounds and seasonal responsibilities and emergency readiness.
• Ensure secure building access and respond to safety concerns and incidents.
• Support events by setting up and breaking down rooms and coordinating with staff.
