Job summary

The Scituate School Department is seeking a reliable Custodian to support cleanliness, maintenance, security, and overall appearance of district facilities at Scituate High School and North Scituate facilities. The role requires working 30 hours per week, with duties spanning classrooms to gymnasiums and event spaces.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to perform custodial and cleaning duties in a school environment.
• Must be able to operate or learn custodial equipment safely.
• Willingness to follow written and oral instructions and work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, and maintain classrooms, offices, hallways, cafeterias, gymnasiums, and restrooms.
• Operate custodial equipment (floor scrubbers, buffers, etc.) and perform routine maintenance tasks.
• Assist with snow removal and grounds maintenance as needed.
• Open, secure, and monitor building access; report safety concerns and maintenance issues.
• Set up and break down rooms for school and community events.
