Job summary

EPAM Systems in Poland seeks an experienced Team Lead for SAP ABAP development to guide a multinational team and drive SAP BTP application support. You will lead coding, reviews, and architecture decisions while mentoring 10+ engineers and coordinating with clients on technical topics.

The role requires strong ABAP, S/4HANA, and Agile expertise, with the ability to work in a hybrid setup and travel occasionally for project needs. English proficiency required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of SAP ABAP development experience.
• Experience leading teams of 10+ people.
• Strong ABAP OO and design patterns knowledge.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA development (CDS, Fiori elements).
• Knowledge of ABAP testing, performance tuning and analysis.
• Good understanding of SAP systems and S/4HANA areas.
• English at least B2 level.

Job description

We are looking for a Team Lead with proficiency in SAP.

Become part of EPAM and contribute to developing and supporting applications within the SAP Business Technology Platform. Your role will also involve providing technical leadership to the team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct code reviews and develop features based on best software development practices, ensuring clean code and clean design
• Monitor applications, troubleshoot issues and resolve bugs
• Write technical and user documentation
• Cooperate with the team, track its performance and needs
• Collaborate with customers and stakeholders on technical topics, provide required metrics to management
• Participate in the setup, improvement and implementation of development processes
• Provide design and architectural decisions

Requirements

• 8+ years of engineering experience in SAP ABAP; Experience working as team leader and mentoring organization structure with 10+ people
• Agile (Scrum) development experience with an expert understanding of application and software architecture
• Strong ABAP programming skills incl. ABAP OO and Design Patterns
• Experience in ABAP for SAP S/4HANA development (CDS, Fiori elements/SmartTemplates, etc.), SAP NetWeaver Gateway, and OData services
• Experience in BOPF, BOL, and other ABAP frameworks
• Good understanding of ABAP Test Cockpit, ABAP Performance Tuning, Runtime Analysis Tools, and Techniques
• Basic understanding of SAP systems functionality with good knowledge of SAP S/4HANA functional areas
• Proven ability to work both independently and as a part of the international project team
• English proficiency level B2 and higher

Nice to have

• Knowledge of SAPUI5, SAP HANA Platform, SAP Cloud Platform, and ABAP PaaS development techniques (Side-by-Side Extensibility, SAP Cloud Application Programming Model, SAP Cloud SDK, RESTful ABAP)
