Job summary

GlobalLogic is seeking a Senior ABAP Developer to maintain and enhance SAP S/4HANA solutions for global clients. You will work with ABAP OO, CDS views, RAP, Fiori and OData integrations in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires strong English communication, willingness to learn, and collaboration with IT and business teams across multiple countries. Remote opportunities are available as part of our Agile teams.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of ABAP development experience, including S/4HANA (preferably SAP SD).
• Strong coding quality and documentation practices.
• Understanding of architecture principles and design patterns.
• Experience with SD enhancements: user exits, customer exits, BADIs, pricing routines, copy controls.
• Classical ABAP skills: best practices, dependencies, dialog programming, OOP, modularization, integration methods, performance optimization, debugging, clean code.
• Experience with new ABAP syntax, CDS views, and OData.
• Interest in SAP technologies: BTP, RAP, CAP, Fiori, SAP Public Cloud.

Responsibilities

• Support and extend existing SAP S/4HANA solutions, implementing new features and functionalities.
• Work with CDS views, RAP, Fiori applications and integrations using OData v2/v4.
• Collaborate with SAP consultants and stakeholders, taking ownership of final technical solutions.
• Participate in end-to-end business and technical discussions within Agile practices.

Our project is a big and complex rental system for corporate clients. We operate on a global scale and work with huge construction companies. The system has a range of system-critical components and generates mlns CHF per month. GlobalLogic team is a primary vendor and we work in a tight collaboration for 5 years already. We're supporting IT infrastructure responsible for renting tools all over the world for a lead provider company based in Switzerland. Our team is working with the SAP platform and middleware (Java microservices).

Requirements

Technical skills

• At least 3 years of experience in classical ABAP development, including experience in S/4HANA (ideally in the SAP SD module).
• High-quality coding and documentation.
• Good understanding of architecture principles and design patterns.
• Experience with the Enhancement Framework in the SD area: user exits, customer exits, BADIs, pricing routines, copy controls.
• Classical ABAP skills: best practices, dependencies, dialog programming, OOP, modularization, integration methods, performance optimization, debugging, clean code.
• Experience with new ABAP syntax, CDS views, and OData.
• Understanding of and interest in new SAP technologies: BTP, RAP, CAP, Fiori, SAP Public Cloud.

• Strong business process understanding in SAP SD and related modules.
• Readiness to dive deep into business context and processes.

Job Responsibilities

As a team, we support existing solutions in our SAP S/4HANA system while continuously improving and enhancing them by implementing new features and functionalities.

We expect you to have strong knowledge of classical ABAP development, including object-oriented programming and bug resolution. Additionally, we actively work with new SAP technologies such as CDS views, RAP, and Fiori applications, and many of our integrations are built using OData v2 and v4.

Therefore, we expect you to either have project experience in some of these areas or at least be curious about them and have conducted self-study. We offer internal learning programs and will support your growth in new SAP technologies.

Our team follows best Agile practices, and as a senior engineer, you will play an essential role in end-to-end business and technical discussions. You will also take ownership of final technical solutions along with our SAP consultants.

Lastly, you will collaborate with various project stakeholders, including business teams, IT, and technology vendors, and you will be part of a fast-paced strategic company program.
