Job summary

GlobalLogic seeks a SAP ABAP specialist to join a global rental-system project in a senior role. You will develop in ABAP, work with S/4HANA, CDS views, RAP, and Fiori, and contribute to BI integrations via OData.

You will collaborate with SAP consultants, business teams, and IT professionals in a fast-paced environment, delivering end-to-end enhancements and new features while upholding best practices and coding standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of ABAP development, including S/4HANA (preferably SAP SD).
• High-quality coding and documentation.
• Strong understanding of architecture principles and design patterns.
• Experience with the Enhancement Framework in SD: user exits, customer exits, BADIs, pricing routines, copy controls.
• Classical ABAP skills: OOP, modularization, debugging, performance optimization, clean code.

Responsibilities

• Support and enhance SAP S/4HANA solutions, implementing new features and functionalities.
• Apply knowledge of ABAP, including OO programming and bug resolution; work with CDS, RAP, and Fiori integrations (OData v2/v4).
• Possess curiosity about SAP technologies and participate in internal learning programs for growth.
• Follow Agile practices and take ownership of final technical solutions with SAP consultants.
• Collaborate with business teams, IT, and technology vendors in a fast-paced strategic program.

Our project is a big and complex rental system for corporate clients. We operate on a global scale and work with huge construction companies. The system has a range of system-critical components and generates mlns CHF per month. GlobalLogic team is a primary vendor and we work in a tight collaboration for 5 years already. We're supporting IT infrastructure responsible for renting tools all over the world for a lead provider company based in Switzerland. Our team is working with the SAP platform and middleware (Java microservices).

Requirements

Technical skills

• At least 3 years of experience in classical ABAP development, including experience in S/4HANA (ideally in the SAP SD module).
• High-quality coding and documentation.
• Good understanding of architecture principles and design patterns.
• Experience with the Enhancement Framework in the SD area: user exits, customer exits, BADIs, pricing routines, copy controls.
• Classical ABAP skills: best practices, dependencies, dialog programming, OOP, modularization, integration methods, performance optimization, debugging, clean code.
• Experience with new ABAP syntax, CDS views, and OData.
• Understanding of and interest in new SAP technologies: BTP, RAP, CAP, Fiori, SAP Public Cloud.

Functional skills

• Strong business process understanding in SAP SD and related modules.
• Readiness to dive deep into business context and processes.

Job responsibilities

As a team, we support existing solutions in our SAP S/4HANA system while continuously improving and enhancing them by implementing new features and functionalities.

We expect you to have strong knowledge of classical ABAP development, including object-oriented programming and bug resolution. Additionally, we actively work with new SAP technologies such as CDS views, RAP, and Fiori applications, and many of our integrations are built using OData v2 and v4.

Therefore, we expect you to either have project experience in some of these areas or at least be curious about them and have conducted self-study. We offer internal learning programs and will support your growth in new SAP technologies.

Our team follows best Agile practices, and as a senior engineer, you will play an essential role in end-to-end business and technical discussions. You will also take ownership of final technical solutions along with our SAP consultants.

Lastly, you will collaborate with various project stakeholders, including business teams, IT, and technology vendors, and you will be part of a fast-paced strategic company program.
