Job summary

VESLOG GmbH is seeking an SAP ABAP Developer for a remote-first position within the EU. You will design, develop and maintain ABAP solutions for a diverse client base and collaborate with international teams.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years of ABAP development, strong ABAP OO skills, and hands-on SAP integration experience. Occasional travel up to 20–30% may be required in some projects, working with modern SAP technologies and teams.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of commercial SAP ABAP development experience, able to independently design, develop, test and support solutions across full lifecycle.
• Strong ABAP and ABAP OO skills with clean code practices and reusable object-oriented design.
• Hands-on experience with SAP integrations and APIs (OData, REST, SOAP, RFC/BAPI, IDoc).
• Experience with SAP Business Application Studio and SAP technologies used in modern implementations.
• Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into sustainable technical designs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver SAP ABAP solutions for a diverse client portfolio across international and local markets.

• Develop and enhance SAP integrations and interfaces (OData, REST, SOAP, RFC/BAPI, IDoc).
• Investigate production issues, perform root-cause analysis and implement fixes.
• Work with existing SAP standard and custom developments, including debugging and refactoring.
• Collaborate with functional consultants, stakeholders and project teams throughout the lifecycle.
• Provide technical guidance and support other developers; contribute to design, estimation and code reviews.

*Location: Flexible / Remote within EU (must be based in Europe and comfortable with remote collaboration)

We’re aremote-first company employing candidates based and eligible to work within the European Union.

While most of our collaboration happens online, we are part of international projects, so occasional business travel to client sites (within or outside the EU) may be required.

Role & responsibilities

• Working as an SAP ABAP Developer, delivering solutions for adiverse portfolio of external clients across international and local markets
• Designing,developingandmaintainingSAP ABAP solutions for external clients in implementation and support projects
• Analyzing business requirements and translating them into scalable technical solutions
• Developing and enhancing SAP integrations and interfaces (e.g.OData, REST, SOAP, RFC/BAPI, IDoc)
• Investigating production issues, performing root-causeanalysisand implementing sustainable fixes
• Working with existing SAP standard and custom developments, including debugging,optimizationand refactoring activities
• Collaborating with functional consultants, businessstakeholdersand project teams throughout the solution lifecycle
• Providingtechnical guidance, sharing bestpracticesand supporting less experienced developers when needed
• Contributing to solution design, effort estimation, code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives

What is expected of you

• 4+ years of commercial SAP ABAP development experience , with the ability to independently design, develop, test and support solutions throughout the full development lifecycle
• Strong ABAP and ABAP OO skills , including clean code practices, reusable object-oriented design,enhancementsand application architecture
• Hands-on experience with SAP integrations and APIs , including development, troubleshooting and support of interfaces based on OData, REST, SOAP, RFC/BAPI or IDoc technologies
• Experience working with SAP Business Application Studio
• Ability to independently analyze business requirements, understand existing SAP standard and custom solutions, and translate them into sustainable technical designs
• Strong debugging,problem-solvingand root-cause analysis skills, including work with large and complex codebases
• Experience in effort estimation, technical solution design, codereviewsand maintaining development quality standards
• Ability to take ownership of development topics and work with minimal supervision
• Continuous learning mindset and ability to quicklyacquireknowledge in new areas
• Communicative skills in English(B2/C1 or above) with the ability to work effectively in an international environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Willingness to travel occasionally for business purposes if there is abusiness need (up to 20%-30% of the time)

Nice to have

• Experience with SAP technical frameworks such as BOPF or PPF
• Experience with SAP UI technologies ( FPM, Web Dynpro, UI5, Web IDE )
• Eperience withforms ( Adobe Forms,SmartForms)
• Knowledge of other programming languages
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools or practical experience applying AI/ML concepts in SAP projects
• Additionallanguages such as Polish, German, or French are astrong advantage but not arequirement
• Category B driving license
