Job summary

Nomagic is seeking Research Scientist to build, train, and deploy foundational models for general-purpose physical AI. You will bridge classical robotic stacks with large-scale multimodal model training, leveraging production logs from robots in real environments.

You will focus on both pretraining and post-training challenges, combining world-class research with engineering rigor, and working in an English-speaking environment with relocation options.

Qualifications

• Deep research and practical experience at the intersection of machine learning, systems engineering, and physical robotics.
• Proven track record designing, training, and fine-tuning large-scale deep learning architectures (VLMs, VLAs, RL, RLHF, Imitation Learning).
• Experience deploying policies on real hardware.
• Strong fundamentals in deep learning frameworks; ability to debug across the stack.

Responsibilities

• Design base model architectures (Transformer- and Diffusion-based) for multimodal robotic data.
• Manage data mixtures and sampling strategies from large offline repositories.
• Run ablations to study scaling laws and data quality effects.
• Collaborate with ML Infra to optimize distributed training.
