Job summary

Baltic Assist is seeking a motivated Junior VAT/Tax Compliance Specialist to join our International Tax team. This fully remote role focuses on supporting Polish and international clients with VAT compliance, reporting and advisory tasks, leveraging hands-on experience in Polish VAT processes.

You will work closely with senior colleagues, develop expertise in VAT regulations, and contribute to client deliverables while collaborating with colleagues in Poland and Lithuania.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, Law, Economics, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of practical experience in Polish VAT compliance and reporting.
• Strong understanding of Polish VAT legislation and technical compliance processes.
• Experience with Polish tax reporting systems and administrative procedures.
• Willingness to develop tax knowledge and communicate clearly in English.

Responsibilities

• Support VAT compliance, reporting, registrations/de-registrations, and ongoing tax obligations (including JPK_V7, VAT-UE returns).
• Prepare, review, and maintain VAT-related documentation, calculations, returns, invoices, and agreements.
• Monitor changes in Polish and international tax legislation and assess impact for clients.
• Research tax issues and present clear, well-reasoned conclusions to senior colleagues and clients.
• Assist with preparation of tax opinions, memorandums, client communications, and other deliverables.
• Participate in client meetings and support day-to-day client relationship management.
• Support other tax advisory projects, including international tax, direct tax, and transfer pricing.
• Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and develop internal tax processes and templates.
