Job summary

Tealium is expanding its Connectors & Integrations engineering team with a Software Engineer who will design, build, test, and support scalable solutions enabling real-time customer data delivery across marketing, analytics, and engagement platforms.

You will collaborate with engineers, architects, QA, DevOps, and Product managers to design and maintain Java services and server-side integrations, using Spring/Quarkus and cloud-native technologies.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional Java development experience, including Spring or Quarkus.
• Understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, clean code, and maintainable, testable systems.
• Experience building or supporting REST APIs and integrations with external services.
• Understanding of microservices and distributed-system concepts, including retries, idempotency, timeouts, observability, and failure handling.
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, Redis, MongoDB, or similar technologies.
• Exposure to cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, serverless technologies, or Terraform.
• Exposure to distributed messaging or streaming technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, or RabbitMQ.
• Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD practices, Git-based development, and peer code review.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a desire to learn new technologies and domain concepts.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to engineers, product partners, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with software engineers, architects, QA, DevOps, frontend engineers, and Product Managers to design and deliver high-quality connectors and integration capabilities.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java services and APIs that support real-time customer data delivery.
• Build and enhance server-side integrations with third-party vendor APIs, including authentication, request mapping, validation, retries, error handling, and rate-limit behavior.
• Contribute to connector actions, configuration APIs, metadata services, and user-facing configuration workflows.
• Work with event-driven and batch-processing systems to deliver data reliably and efficiently at scale.
• Write unit, integration, and automated tests; investigate failures; and improve test coverage and maintainability.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, planning, estimation, demos, and continuous improvement activities.
• Contribute to technical design discussions, operational-readiness reviews, troubleshooting, and production-support investigations.
• Participate in peer code reviews and help maintain coding, security, reliability, and observability standards.
• Improve service performance, monitoring, logging, resiliency, and customer-facing error handling.
• Research alternatives and recommend pragmatic improvements to existing designs, tools, and development practices.
