Job summary

SoftServe is seeking a seasoned software engineer to lead the modernization of an established platform, migrating from a monolith to cloud-native microservices. You will shape Java services, containerization, observability, and automated delivery, ensuring scalable, reliable business-critical systems.

You will work with a distributed team and engage with German-speaking stakeholders. You’ll collaborate with architects, DevOps, QA, and clients to plan changes, implement OpenTelemetry

Qualifications

• Experience modernizing monolithic apps into microservices-enabled cloud-native solutions.
• Advanced Java and Spring Boot expertise (Java 11/17/21).
• Experience with React/TypeScript frontend stacks.
• Proficiency with Docker/Kubernetes, Helm, and secure deployments.

Responsibilities

• Redesign a monolithic platform into microservices using Java/Spring Boot, with React/TypeScript as needed.
• Drive containerization of legacy JVM apps with Docker/Podman and modern config/state handling.
• Collaborate with architects, DevOps, QA, and clients to plan and release changes safely.
• Build and maintain CI/CD workflows with ArgoCD and GitOps practices.
• Implement OpenTelemetry observability across logs, metrics, traces using Grafana/Prometheus/Loki/Mimir.
• Develop data flows with PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka; manage Liquibase/Flyway migrations.
• Deploy Kubernetes services with Helm including Ingress, TLS, NetworkPolicies, secrets.
• Strengthen security with Vault/External Secrets, SonarQube, and Trivy.
