Job summary

EY GDS Poland is seeking a Python Technical Architect to lead backend and cloud architecture within the EY Digital team. You will shape technical direction, guide development teams and ensure secure, scalable solutions across platforms.

You will own solution design, set engineering standards and mentor engineers while collaborating with DevOps, analysts and architects to deliver robust systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of commercial software engineering experience, with strong backend Python.
• Experience designing backend services, REST APIs, event-driven components or data pipelines.
• Practical cloud experience with AWS and/or Azure, designing secure, scalable services.
• Experience defining non-functional requirements: performance, security, reliability.
• Experience leading developers technically: code reviews, mentoring, delivery ownership.
• Strong knowledge of architecture, Clean Code, testing and docs.
• Experience with CI/CD, Git and automated deployments.

Responsibilities

• Own solution design for Python-based backend services and cloud-native solutions.
• Define technical architecture, implementation approach and engineering standards.
• Ensure security, scalability, observability and resilience of solutions.
• Lead development team, remove blockers and ensure delivery quality.
• Review code and promote clean, testable Python across teams.
• Document trade-offs and guide implementation decisions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into robust tech.
• Share Python knowledge through sessions, code reviews and guidelines.
• Mentor and grow the Python competency within the team.
