Job summary

Speechify is hiring a Team Lead Android engineer for a 100% remote role. You will own core features end to end, review PRs, and drive reliability. You’ll mentor engineers, improve automation, and ensure timely releases across a distributed team.

You should have 5+ years in software engineering, deep Kotlin expertise, and experience with long-running background work. The role includes hands-on coding and leadership in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering with leadership or ownership of major surfaces.
• Strong Kotlin stack and Android architecture skills.
• Experience shipping audio/background tasks and tests.
• Proven ability to drive changes with impact and code quality.

Responsibilities

• Own major features end to end from design to release.
• Maintain reliability metrics and review PRs with constructive feedback.
• Unblock the team and ensure shared components stay coherent.
• Lead planning and reviews, and coordinate with Product, Design, and Eng.
• Handle critical issues and provide nightly builds for QA.
