Job summary

RemoFirst is seeking a Global Legal Associate, Fintech & Compliance to partner with Product, Engineering and Finance on payments, payroll and cross-border compliance. You will translate regulation into practical product requirements and help launch fintech features with minimal regulatory risk.

The role involves drafting terms, negotiating with banks and payment providers, and maintaining AML/CTF and KYC controls across markets. This is a 100% remote position with international scope.

Qualifications

• Law degree and qualification to practise in at least one jurisdiction.
• 3-5 years of legal experience in payments or fintech in-house or at a firm with payments practice.
• Hands-on experience advising product teams, including at least one product or market launch you supported from design to go-live.
• Solid knowledge of payments regulation (PSD2/EMD, money transmission) and AML/CTF requirements.
• Experience with banks or payment providers and negotiating related agreements.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal guidance for payments features from discovery through launch.
• Turn regulatory requirements into practical product requirements and disclosures.
• Draft, review and negotiate agreements with partner banks, payment providers and FX partners.
• Conduct legal reviews for launches in new markets and for new payment features.
• Assist with risk assessments and propose compliant alternatives rather than blocking work.
