Job summary

Alarm.com is building a Kraków-based Panels Team to design and maintain the communication backbone powering smart home devices. You will lead a team of five software engineers, mentor developers, and drive timely delivery of complex projects in a fast-paced environment.

We value hands-on leadership, strong OO programming skills (C# a plus), and experience with distributed systems, databases, and IoT platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• 3+ years of professional experience managing a team of developers.
• Strong technical mentorship skills.
• Strong object-oriented programming skills; C# a plus.
• Experience with database design and development.
• Knowledge of networking concepts, principles, and technologies.
• Experience working with physical systems.
• Experience developing scalable service-oriented architectures.
• Fosters a positive, respectful, and inclusive team environment through day-to-day leadership.
• Ability to communicate effectively with engineers and non‑engineers alike.
• Experience hiring, developing and managing a diverse and talented team of engineers.
• Proven track record delivering large scale, cross‑functional projects on time and in a high‑quality manner, exploring technical feasibility and prioritization tradeoffs as well as process improvements along the way.
• Comfortable navigating competing priorities and ambiguous situations.
• Communicates clearly, sets boundaries, and makes decisions under pressure

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of software engineers and provide technical mentorship.
• Deliver projects and set timelines for the Panels Team.
• Collaborate across hardware, software and cloud domains for the security ecosystem.
• Mentor future engineering talent and foster a collaborative culture.
• Drive high-quality code delivery and process improvements across the team.
• Engage with stakeholders to manage scope and priorities.
• Contribute to architecture decisions for scalable services and SOA.
