Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Software Engineer (Edge – Networking & Fleet) in Poland to design and operate scalable edge and fleet infrastructure for a residential device network. You will own critical control planes, proxies, and scheduling systems while collaborating with partner teams in a remote-first environment.

You will work across distributed control planes and data planes, focusing on scalable scheduling, proxy services, and fleet management across Windows, Android, and Linux.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Rust experience with production systems.
• Experience designing and operating distributed systems at scale.
• Strong understanding of distributed concepts like consistency and backpressure.
• Deep networking knowledge including TCP, TLS, HTTP, and proxies.
• Experience with gRPC and long-lived connections in NAT environments.
• Experience building or operating proxy infrastructure for residential/ISP networks.
• Experience defining SLOs, error budgets, and observability.
• Cross-platform Rust development including Windows, Linux, and Android (FFI where needed).
• Strong written communication in a globally distributed, remote-first team.
• Curiosity and analytical mindset for underload investigation.

Responsibilities

• Scale the data plane with a scalable fetch scheduler handling tens of millions of requests daily.
• Design and build Fleet Manager control plane with adapters, inventory, rollout control, and metrics export to BigQuery.
• Develop provider integrations to onboard new device sources via standard workflows.
• Own and improve CONNECT proxy gateway, edge session management, IP reputation, and proxy leases.
• Engineer secure networking between control services and residential peers using mTLS, gRPC, and streaming.
• Address NAT and bandwidth challenges and ensure reliable connections.
• Define and maintain SLOs and latency targets for Edge route.
• Build observability and metrics for peer availability and provider performance.
• Implement safe blue/green deployments and software rollouts.
• Participate in on-call rotation and incident post-mortems.
• Produce technical design documents for scheduling, fleet management, failover.
• Review designs and promote distributed-systems best practices.
