Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Software Engineer (Edge – Devices & Mobile) based in Poland to build and scale cross‑platform Rust infrastructure across Windows, Android, and Linux, with future macOS support. You will own a peer runtime, tackle advanced networking, security, and reliability challenges across a globally distributed fleet.

You will collaborate with senior engineers, work on FFIs, JNI/NDK, and browserless HTTP clients, and contribute to architecture decisions and open‑source integrations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional Rust experience.
• Proven track record shipping cross‑platform Rust on Windows, macOS, Android, or Linux.
• Strong understanding of OS internals, processes, permissions, and constraints.
• Hands‑on experience with FFI and Rust+C/C++ interoperability (JNI/NDK, Win32, POSIX).
• Solid networking knowledge (TCP, TLS, HTTP) and ability to analyze traffic.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain cross‑platform Rust peer runtime for Windows, Android, Linux, with macOS coming.
• Manage lifecycles, networking, updates, and stability across devices.
• Expand platform support to Android devices using NDK/JNI.
• Integrate native networking tech (Cronet/C++) into Rust libraries.
• Collaborate with native APIs, ensure safe memory management and FFI boundaries.
• Collect hardware and OS signals to improve network realism.
• Build device observability and performance metrics across fleets.
• Contribute to docs, architecture reviews, and engineering standards.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and incident post‑mortems.
