Job summary

Relativity in Warsaw is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a high‑performing software team. You will mentor engineers, drive architecture decisions, and accelerate AI‑driven and data‑driven development across platforms and services.

Expect to promote API‑first, microservices design, guide data technologies (MongoDB), and enable AI features via APIs. You’ll manage resources in Scrum, partner with stakeholders, and foster engineering excellence and delivery excellence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering with leadership experience.
• 2+ years in a leadership or management role.
• Hands-on software development with Java, Python, or similar.
• Experience designing API-based / microservices architectures.
• Proven experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB) and data platforms.
• Experience integrating AI tools and AI-powered APIs into workflows.
• Experience with SaaS or enterprise-scale distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of system design, scalability and observability (SLOs).
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and agile/scrum skills.
• Experience in FedRAMP/government-facing or legal tech is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers and architects across multiple product areas.
• Drive development of existing applications and new platforms with AI- and data-driven capabilities.
• Architect and promote API-first, service-oriented systems with scalability and maintainability.
• Provide hands-on technical contribution in design, coding, and system integration when needed.
• Guide adoption of modern data technologies, including MongoDB, and data modeling/processing strategies.
• Enable teams to build AI-powered features leveraging APIs and ML integrations.
• Allocate and validate engineering resources based on Scrum needs and business priorities.
• Ensure secure, scalable API design and integration patterns (REST, event-driven, microservices).
• Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development conversations.
• Stay current with AI, distributed systems trends and data platforms; drive innovation.
