We are hiring a Commercial Insurance Underwriter/Broker to grow and manage a profitable book by building strong relationships with independent retail agencies and placing complex risks with E&S carriers. You will evaluate risks, shape market strategy, negotiate terms, and stay ahead of carrier appetite in a remote-friendly, entrepreneurial environment that offers

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial insurance, brokerage, underwriting, or related role.
• Understanding of commercial insurance risks and coverage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for evaluating accounts.
• Ability to build long-term relationships with retail agencies.
• Interest in underwriting and business development with growth mindset.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive, growth-oriented mindset with ownership of success.
• Active Property & Casualty license preferred or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with retail insurance agencies.
• Evaluate commercial risks and determine marketability and coverage strategy.
• Analyze submissions, identify underwriting concerns, and structure solutions for complex E&S risks.
• Market submissions to E&S carriers and negotiate pricing, terms, and coverage.
• Present coverage recommendations and underwriting solutions to retail agents.
• Manage accounts from submission through binding.
• Build and grow a profitable book of business.
• Stay current on carrier appetite, underwriting guidelines, and market trends.
