American Consumer Credit Counseling is seeking a Credit Counselor to guide clients toward improved financial health. You will provide personalized support, review budgets, and offer actionable debt management strategies over the phone or online.

The role emphasizes empathy, confidentiality, and educating clients on credit reports and budgeting. Experience in credit counseling and Excel/Outlook proficiency is preferred; NFCC certification will be pursued within six months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates or Bachelors preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in credit counseling, financial coaching, or debt management.
• NFCC Credit Counselor Certification to be obtained within six months.

Responsibilities

• Build trust with clients from diverse backgrounds and listen empathetically during conversations.
• Guide clients through debt management options, budgeting, and financial education over phone or online sessions.
• Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions reviewing client budgets and recommending personalized repayment strategies.
• Enter client information accurately into internal systems and track enrollment in ACCC programs.
• Follow up with prospects to encourage engagement and enrollment into debt consolidation or financial assistance programs.
• Educate clients on credit reports and scores, and provide steps to maintain healthy financial habits.
