Job summary

Contour Education is hiring an Accountant (Australian Accounting) to manage Contour's transactional finance in a remote India role. You will handle accounts payable, reimbursements, and reconciliations while reporting to the Financial Controller.

The position offers growth into management accounting and process design as the team scales. You should bring a commerce degree with CA Inter / CMA Inter / ACCA or M.Com and 2–4 years of hands-on accounting, including Xero proficiency and balance sheet

Qualifications

• A commerce degree plus CA Inter, CMA Inter, or part-qualified ACCA (discontinued is fine), or an M.Com, and 2 to 4 years of hands‑on accounting work
• Reconciliation experience across bank, supplier, or settlement accounts
• Working proficiency in Xero: coding transactions, running bank feeds and reconciliations, and pulling reports without help
• Balance sheet exposure: you have maintained balance sheet reconciliations or prepared workpapers for a month‑end close
• Sharp written English and comfort working across the India and Australia time difference

Responsibilities

• Run accounts payable end to end: verify invoices, code in Xero, prepare payment runs, and keep suppliers paid on time
• Process team member expense reimbursements: check claims, query issues, and maintain predictable turnaround
• Own account reconciliations: bank accounts, Stripe settlements, and key ledger accounts kept current monthly
• Manage balance sheet accounts: maintain reconciliations and workpapers for monthly close; flag material items
• Be day-to-day auditor contact: pull samples, walk through workpapers, and uphold internal controls
• Document recurring work: write steps so the function stays reliable as it grows
