affirm is seeking an Analytics Engineer to maintain and optimize our finance data platform, driving reliability and efficiency of pipelines for accounting reporting. You will own core datasets, work with Snowflake and dbt, and partner with stakeholders to turn requirements into robust data assets.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in analytics engineering or similar roles with production data systems.
• Strong SQL skills and hands-on dbt modeling and testing.
• Experience in a modern development workflow with Git-based collaboration.
• Familiarity with IDEs and collaborative debugging practices.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses, Snowflake preferred.
• A sense of ownership in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain dbt models and core datasets for accounting reporting and automation.
• Improve platform reliability with tests, alerts, and runbooks.
• Own and document data pipelines and lineage for auditability.
• Identify and fix production data issues and drive root-cause analysis.
• Optimize Snowflake and dbt performance and cost for scaling.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to translate requirements into reusable data assets.
• Contribute to GitHub-based workflows, code reviews, and release hygiene.
