Job summary

OEC is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to own critical areas of the dbt project and ensure clean Snowflake data assets. You will lead by example, mentor peers, and collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and engineers to deliver reliable, well-documented analytics assets.

You will champion AI-assisted workflows and contribute to scalable, governance-focused data models. The role is fully remote with quarterly in-person meetings, offering opportunities across the automotive parts

Qualifications

• 5+ years in analytics engineering, data engineering, or related data role.
• Expert-level dbt skills with layered modeling, testing, and CI/CD integration.
• Deep Snowflake expertise: query optimization, materialization, and access control.
• Advanced SQL and data modeling knowledge.
• Experience with BI semantic layers and tools (Sigma, Looker, Tableau or Power BI).
• Strong written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain modular dbt models following layered architecture.
• Own model performance: optimize Snowflake queries and configure materializations.
• Evolve dbt best practices: testing, documentation, and source freshness checks.
• Code reviews for dbt PRs and establish modeling conventions.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Engineers to turn data into reliable assets.
• Mentor Associate and mid-level Analytics Engineers through reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Define team conventions around naming, folder structure, model contracts, and testing thresholds.
