Job summary

AECOM in Krakow is seeking an Engineer - Railways (Starszy Asystent Projektanta Kolejowego) to join our Linear Infrastructure team. You will contribute to railway design projects across the United States and Canada, with hybrid work from Poland.

Responsibilities include developing track geometry, creating drawings, coordinating with other disciplines, and using OpenRail Designer, Power Rail Track, Civil 3D, MicroStation or AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• At least three years of relevant experience in railway design.
• Practical experience with geometric design and 3D modeling using OpenRail Designer, Power Rail Track and/or Civil 3D.
• Proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of small projects or defined work packages within larger railway infrastructure projects.
• Develop horizontal and vertical track geometry, corridors, templates and cross-sections per design standards.
• Prepare project deliverables based on approved inputs and requirements.
• Prepare and update 2D drawings, 3D models and layouts.
• Perform quantity calculations in line with project requirements.
• Use CAD software to develop design solutions per standards.
• Perform self-checks of drawings, models, and documentation before review.
• Coordinate drafting tasks with team members across disciplines under senior staff guidance.
