Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Engineer - Railways (Starszy Asystent Projektanta Kolejowego) to join our Linear Infrastructure team in a hybrid work model. The role focuses on supporting railway design from feasibility through detailed design across North America, with Poland/Spain team involvement.

The candidate will develop track geometry, prepare 2D/3D deliverables, and collaborate with senior staff to deliver projects to standards. Strong English and Civil/Railway engineering background required.

Qualifications

• At least three years of relevant experience in railway design.
• Experience with geometric design and 3D modeling.
• Proficiency in CAD tools (MicroStation/AutoCAD).
• Good written and spoken English communication.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of small projects or defined work packages under supervision.
• Develop track geometry, corridors, templates, and cross-sections per design standards.
• Prepare deliverables based on approved inputs and requirements.
• Create and update 2D drawings and 3D models.
• Perform quantity calculations per project needs.
• Use CAD software to develop design solutions per standards.
• Self-check drawings and models prior to review.
• Coordinate tasks with team members across disciplines.
