Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Lodz seeks an R&D Mechanical Engineer to drive mechanical design optimization for distribution transformers and power converters. You will work across the full R&D lifecycle, from concept through testing to product launch, in a collaborative, international environment.

The role emphasizes 2D/3D CAD design (Creo/SolidWorks), thermal and CFD simulations (ANSYS/COMSOL), and integration with ERP and PLM systems, contributing to IP and risk management while supporting factories,

Qualifications

MSc or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, ideally with R&D experience.
Experience with 2D/3D CAD systems (Creo, SOLIDWORKS); CAD models parametrization.
Experience with thermal/cooling issues and CFD tools (ANSYS, COMSOL).
Experience with ERP and PLM systems; strength and vibration considerations.

Responsibilities

Propose and analyze mechanical design optimization and thermal analyses for transformers and power converters.
Contribute to all stages of product development: concepts, models, drawings, simulations, prototypes, and productization.
Own work packages and deliver results with a structured approach.
Document work; derive design rules from validated solutions.
