Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Łódź, Poland, is seeking a Junior R&D Electrical Engineer to join our Global Multi-physics Simulation Team within the Transformers business. You will perform circuit-level, electromagnetic, and multi-physics simulations to support dry-type and liquid-filled transformers throughout development.

You will collaborate with engineering and testing teams, develop automation tools and workflows, and contribute to early design validation and FAT prediction while applying Python,

Qualifications

• M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with transformer design is an advantage.
• Strong grounding in circuit theory, electromagnetics, and transformer physics.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Perform circuit-level, electromagnetic, and multiphysics simulations of dry-type and liquid-filled transformers in line with IEC/IEEE standards.
• Evaluate losses, impedance, leakage fields, short-circuit forces, inductances, and transient behavior using FEM and circuit tools.
• Develop and maintain automation tools and simulation workflows for early design validation and FAT prediction.
• Couple circuit-level and EM models with structural, thermomechanical, and acoustic analyses.
• Support feasibility studies, new concepts, and technology variants for transformers.
• Transfer knowledge by writing design rules, delivering internal trainings, and collaborating with design tools teams.
