Job summary

L&T Technology Services Limited (LTTS) is seeking an R&D Engineer to support creation, implementation and maintenance of technical specifications and standards for raw materials, semi-finished materials, components and engineering product data.

The role blends materials knowledge with mechanical/product engineering, PLM/PDM data management, and cross-functional collaboration with factories, engineering, procurement, supply chain and quality teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
• Experience with materials, components, technical specifications, product data, engineering documentation or standardization activities.
• Good understanding of raw materials, semi-finished materials, component specifications, technical standards or product lifecycle data.
• Experience with PLM/PDM, document management, product data, material data, master data, classification, attributes or data quality topics.
• Experience with PLM/PDM systems such as Windchill, Teamcenter, SAP PLM, 3DX or equivalent is welcome.
• Ability to collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, supply chain, quality, suppliers and global factories.
• Fluent English and strong communication skills in an international, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain technical specifications for standard raw materials, semi-finished materials, components and reusable engineering parts in a central PLM/PDM repository.
• Support factories and engineering users in implementation and correct selection of standard materials, specifications and product data.
• Analyze material data, product data, attributes and technical parameters; support classification, mapping, validation and data quality activities.
• Map local material standards to global specifications and validate parameter values against global or local requirements.
• Migrate, cleanse and harmonize legacy material standards, documentation, specifications and product data into a central repository.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, compliance and consistency of material specifications, engineering standards and technical documentation.
