Job summary

ambiscale is seeking a QA Engineer who goes beyond clicking through tests, aiming to automate, optimize, and leverage AI for faster quality delivery. You will design automated tests for frontend and API layers, work with AI tools to accelerate authoring, and validate REST/GraphQL in decoupled architectures while maintaining UI consistency with VRT.

We require 2+ years in QA automation, proficiency with Playwright or Cypress, Docker, Git, and CI/CD, plus fluency in Polish and English (B2+).

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial experience in QA automation and taking ownership of testing strategy.
• Experience with Playwright or Cypress and testing REST & GraphQL architectures.
• Proficient with AI tools (e.g. Cursor, Claude) for test authoring and analysis without blindly trusting output.
• Comfort using Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines to manage environments.
• Communicates in Polish and English (B2+).

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing automated test suites for frontend and API layers using Playwright or Cypress.
• Collaborate with AI assistants to accelerate test authoring while maintaining code quality.
• Test REST and GraphQL APIs in decoupled headless architectures (Next.js/Vue + CMS).
• Ensure test stability via smart mocking and network interception; implement Visual Regression Testing (VRT).
• Manual and exploratory testing to catch edge cases automation may miss.

What you’ll be doing

• designing and developing automated test suites for frontend and API layers using Playwright or Cypress,
• working with AI assistants (Cursor, Claude, Copilot) to accelerate test writing and refactoring, while maintaining a critical eye on the generated code,
• testing REST and GraphQL APIs in decoupled headless architectures (Next.js/Vue + CMS),
• ensuring test stability by isolating cases through smart mocking and intercepting network requests,
• implementing Visual Regression Testing (VRT) to maintain UI consistency in our custom-built frontends,
• using Docker to manage local environments and reproduce issues in production-like conditions,
• performing manual and exploratory testing to catch complex edge cases that automation might miss.

You’ll fit right in if you

• have at least 2 years of commercial experience in QA automation and feel confident taking ownership of the testing strategy,
• are experienced with Playwright or Cypress and in testing both REST and GraphQL architectures,
• are a proficient user of AI tools (e.g. Cursor, Claude) and know how to use them to boost your productivity, test authoring, code refactoring, and analysis of automated test suites without blindly trusting their output,
• can efficiently use Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines to manage your work and environments,
• communicate transparently and effectively in both Polish and English (B2+).

Nice to have

• experience in using AI for test data generation or quickly mocking API responses,
• familiarity with specialized Visual Regression Testing tools (e.g. Percy, BackstopJS) or built-in VRT modules in Playwright,
• understanding of the importance of WCAG standards and experience in performing accessibility testing,
• a solid grasp of the challenges related to testing headless and distributed systems where backend and frontend are decoupled.
