Job summary

DCG is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to enhance automated testing for backend services and frontend, using Java, TypeScript, Playwright, and Cucumber. You will contribute to REST API testing, test case design with Gherkin, and CI/CD integration in an Agile setting.

The role requires hands-on automation experience, strong English, and collaboration with developers and analysts to deliver robust software.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in software testing / QA, focused on test automation.
• Strong experience in web and backend test automation.
• Hands-on with Playwright, Cucumber and WireMock.
• Proficient in Java and TypeScript.
• Strong REST API testing experience, automated and manual.
• Experience with API tools like Postman or Bruno.
• Knowledge of Gherkin and test design.
• Experience with SQL and database validation.
• Experience with Jenkins and basic CI/CD configuration.
• Experience with test management tools (e.g., qTest).
• Experience working in Agile teams.
• Practical use of AI tools in testing.

QA Automation Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Design, create, maintain and execute automated tests for backend services using Java and Cucumber
• Develop and maintain frontend automated tests using TypeScript and Playwright
• Perform automated and manual REST API testing
• Analyse new features and prepare test scenarios, test cases and supporting documentation
• Execute manual functional tests on desktop and mobile devices
• Build and maintain test cases using Gherkin
• Use WireMock for mocking and testing integrations
• Support test execution within CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
• Analyse test data and perform database validation using SQL
• Collaborate closely with developers, analysts and other team members within an Agile environment
• Use AI-based tools to support testing, analysis and daily engineering activities

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in software testing / QA, with a strong focus on test automation
• Strong experience in test automation for web applications and backend services
• Hands-on experience with Playwright, Cucumber and WireMock
• Good knowledge of Java and TypeScript
• Strong experience with REST API testing, both automated and manual
• Experience with Bruno and/or Postman
• Good knowledge of Gherkin and test case design
• Experience with SQL and database validation
• Experience using Jenkins, including basic configuration
• Experience with qTest or similar test management tools
• Experience working in Agile development teams
• Practical experience using AI tools in software development or testing
• Fluency in English (both written and spoken)

Nice to have:

• ISTQB certification
• Knowledge of IT analysis methods and standards such as BPMN 2.0, UML or IREB
