Job summary

ZF Group in Poland is seeking a Product Stewardship Engineer to drive material compliance across the product life cycle. The role sits within ADAS & HPC or related teams and involves collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure regulatory adherence.

The candidate will develop standards, deliver training, and monitor environmental regulations while supporting design and manufacturing teams to achieve compliant products.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Chemistry or Chemical/Environmental Engineering required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in automotive electronics with knowledge of IMDS/CAMDS and global environmental regulations affecting products.
  • Ability to identify hazardous substances, materials, concentrations and naming conventions.
  • Strong understanding of BOMs, drawings and material specifications.
  • Experience with IMDS and CAMDS systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Standards and Processes for Product Stewardship and Material Data Systems (IMDS, CAMDS).
  • Develop and update training materials and deliver training on Product Stewardship topics and processes.
  • Contribute to Product Stewardship communications and regulatory reporting.
  • Monitor and report impact of regulation and customer standards; liaise with internal teams and suppliers for compliance.
  • Support IMDS team with problem solving across functions, suppliers, and customers.
  • Assist Engineering in material analyses during product development phases to meet regulations.
  • Support manufacturing, sales, and program management for environment, safety and compliance requirements.

About the Team

This position is part of ZF’s ADAS & HPC business, which is entering an exciting new phase of growth and transformation within the advanced automotive technology space. The business unit is planned for divestiture, creating a unique opportunity to help shape the future of next-generation driver assistance and high-performance computing technologies.

A member of the Product Stewardship and Product Compliance team, the successful candidate will be expected to engage with ZF–ADAS to manage various materials related aspects of product life cycle and the production process.

What you can look forward to as a Product Stewardship Engineer (f/m/d):
  • Develop and maintain Standards and Processes to ensure the effective management of Product Stewardship and Material Data Systems (IMDS, CAMDS).
  • Develop and update training materials and deliver training on Product Stewardship related subjects and processes.
  • Contribute to Product Stewardship communications.
  • Establish expert knowledge of and monitor, assess and report impact of regulation and customer standards. Liaise with internal departments and suppliers to achieve compliance of affected parts.
  • Support IMDS team with problem solving across functional teams, suppliers, and customers.
  • Support Engineering in core and application design projects by providing material analysis to regulations and customer standards during product development phases.
  • Support manufacturing, sales, and program management for any product related environment, safety and legal compliance to regulations.
  • Establish network of customer and industry contacts. To enable information flow, influencing policy and regulation.
  • Interaction with contracted third-party experts.
Your profile as a Product Stewardship Engineer (f/m/d):
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry and /or Chemical or Environmental Engineering or closely related field is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in automotive electronics, with strong knowledge of IMDS/CAMDS systems and global environmental regulations affecting products.
  • Must have ability to identify hazardous substances, materials, concentrations, and chemical naming conventions.
  • Good understanding of Engineering data including BOMs, drawings and material specifications.
  • Good working knowledge of IMDS and CAMDS systems.
  • Must have ability to work without direct day-to-day supervision managing multiple activities.
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills.
  • Highly motivated person eager to deliver against targets.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Good verbal and written English skills.
