About the Team
This position is part of ZF’s ADAS & HPC business, which is entering an exciting new phase of growth and transformation within the advanced automotive technology space. The business unit is planned for divestiture, creating a unique opportunity to help shape the future of next‑generation driver assistance and high‑performance computing technologies. We are looking for a Technical Project Manager (f/m/d) to lead the development of automotive Electronic Control Units (ECUs), with a focus on Connectivity Units and High‑Performance Vehicle Computers. The role involves the technical leadership of complex, networked electronic systems that enable in‑vehicle connectivity, data processing, and communication.
Responsibilities
- Technical leadership of Electronic Connectivity Unit projects throughout customer RfQ’s and the following full development lifecycle.
- Coordination and alignment of cross‑functional disciplines, including: Systems Engineering Software Development Hardware Development Cyber‑Security Quality Management.
- Definition, structuring, and assignment of work packages across all involved disciplines.
- Planning, tracking, and controlling technical activities, milestones, and deliverables.
- Ensuring compliance with automotive standards, internal processes, and quality requirements.
- Acting as the main technical interface to internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Managing technical risks, dependencies, and change requests.
- Supporting issue resolution and decision‑making at system and component level.
Your profile as a Technical Project Manager (f/m/d)
- Degree in Information Technology/Software, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Fluent German and English (spoken and written).
- At least two years’ professional experience as a Technical Project Manager or Technical Lead in automotive electronics.
- At least 5 years of work experience in automotive industry or related.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Strong knowledge of electronic connectivity units, embedded systems, or vehicle network technologies.
- Knowledge of automotive quality standards (e.g. ASPICE, ISO 26262, IATF 16949).
- Experience working with OEMs and Tier‑2 suppliers.
- Experience coordinating system, software, hardware, and quality teams.
- Solid understanding of automotive development processes (e.g. V‑model).
- Experience with connectivity technologies (e.g. wireless communication high speed data interfaces).
- Ability to define and manage work packages and technical interfaces.
- Willingness to travel.
