Job summary

Hiab is seeking a hands-on Quality Engineer to drive quality on the production floor in Stargard, Poland. You will lead morning walk-throughs, guide assembly teams, and apply 8D and A3 methods to root out defects, with a focus on preventing recurrence.

You will collaborate with PLC and NPD teams, ensure product releases meet standards, and log actions for continuous improvement in a fast paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in a technical discipline is required.
• Minimum 2 years of quality engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Proficiency with 8D, FMEA, PPAP and A3 quality tools.

Responsibilities

• Walk the assembly line daily, check product quality and provide immediate feedback.
• Use 8D and A3 tools to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Audit build processes and inspect finished products before delivery.
• Separate defective parts and decide repair or scrap; log supplier claims.
• Collect quality data and share reports with management.
• Create simple inspection plans and initiate ECNs.

In this role, you will be close to the entire product lifecycle -from initial assembly on the shop floor to final delivery and customer feedback. This is not a desk-bound role. We are looking for a hands‑on engineer who thrives on the production floor. You will spend roughly 2 to 3 hours every day directly in the manufacturing area, leading morning walk-throughs, supporting assembly teams, and driving shop-floor quality audits. You will serve as the hub for root cause analysis and problem solving-identifying what happened, understanding why, and implementing corrective actions that prevent recurrence. You collaborate with cross‑functional teams in Product Lifetime Care (PLC) and New Products Development (NPD).

Key Responsibilities

• Walk the assembly line daily, check product quality, and give immediate feedback to production and paint shop teams
• Find the root causes of assembly defects and customer complaints using 8D and A3 tools to keep issues from happening again
• Audits & Product Release: Audit the build process and inspect finished products (including cranes) before approving them for delivery
• Separate defective parts, decide whether to repair or scrap them, and log claims for supplier quality issues
• Collect quality data, track error rates, and share clear reports with management and production leaders
• Create simple inspection plans, approve quality documents and initiate Engineering Change Requests.

What We Are Looking For

• Technical degree in Engineering (B.Sc. / M.Sc. is required)
• Minimum 2 years of quality engineering experience within a manufacturing or assembly environment
• Proficiency in the 8D methodology with a proven track record of resolving shop‑floor quality issues
• Basic knowledge of quality core tools and frameworks: FMEA, PPAP, and A3
• Communicative English skills both written and verbal
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

You are naturally curious with an eye for detail, always digging deeper to solve the real problem rather than just the symptom. Grounded and decisive, you take ownership quickly and feel completely at home making firm calls on a fast‑paced production floor.
