Job summary

ABB is seeking a Procurement professional to lead purchasing and logistics activities across R&D projects, ensuring compliance with standards and optimizing supplier performance. You will coordinate with engineering, product management, and BI teams, driving cost savings and value creation.

The role emphasizes supplier negotiations, local sourcing strategies, and cross-functional collaboration to support ABB Smart Buildings and other divisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Procurement/ Supply Chain or related field with solid technical understanding to work between Procurement, Engineering and other teams.
• Proven experience in Procurement, with a solid track record in supplier management and R&D project coordination.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills; Agile Gate Model experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate procurement activities for R&D projects and act as interface between technology and product management and Business Line Procurement teams.
• Execute purchasing and logistics strategies to optimize cost, quality, and reliability of suppliers and supplied products.
• Design and implement local sourcing plans and strategies aligned with business targets.
• Apply procurement standards, tools, and processes including supplier negotiations to ensure quality, delivery, cost and sustainability.

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure the implementation, maintenance, and compliance of the purchasing and logistics-related activities in the Procurement function to support the businesses. Each day, you will execute assigned activities as per ABB standard procedures. You will also showcase your experience by delivering and participating in training programs as required to ensure compliance and to support professional development.Location: EuropeThe work model for the role is: Remote #LI-remoteIn this position, you will be reporting to BL BA – Procurement ManagerYou will be mainly accountable forProcurement Gate Model activities, arranging project procurement gate meetings as required, and creating and maintaining the project related to procurement documents.Coordinates procurement activities for Research and Development (R&D) projects. Acts as interface between the technology and product management project team and Business Line Procurement teams.Executing purchasing and logistics strategies to support the business by optimizing costs, quality, and reliability of suppliers and supplied products.Designing and implementing plans and effective strategies for local sourcing of products/materials to reach business targets.Supporting in implementing effective local sourcing strategies in line with business strategy to meet current and future business requirements.Applying and implementing procurement standards, tools, and processes including supplier negotiations and Contacts in your area of responsibility to secure quality, delivery, cost, and supplier sustainability compliance.

Qualificationsfor the role

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Procurement/ Supply Chain or related field with solid technical understanding to effectively work between Procurement, Engineering and other teamsProven experience in Procurement, with a solid track record in supplier management and R&D project coordination. Experience with Brand Labeling, ODM, OEM, JDM, EMS and manufacturing environments will be considered an advantageStrong analytical skills for cost optimization, value chain analysis, and risk assessmentSolid Project Management capabilities with experience in Agile Gate Model methodologiesEffective negotiation and communication skills to work with diverse teams including engineers, suppliers, and other stakeholders and ManagersDemonstrated results in identifying and onboarding new cost-competitive suppliers
