Job summary

BorgWarner is seeking a Problem Resolution Management Engineer in Krakow to coordinate engineering efforts across defects and change management during product lifecycles in traction inverter development for EVs. You will work with program leads and engineers and interface with customers to strive for zero defects at launch.

The role requires a strong background in electrical/mechatronics/software engineering, automotive change management, and experience with power electronics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechatronics or Software Engineering.
  • Master’s degree in related technical field preferred.
  • Automotive industry experience with progressive responsibilities.
  • Good working knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate defect resolution with customers and BorgWarner project teams.
  • Implement internal and external change management activities per process framework.
  • Determine all the project's change management activities and track them to resolution.
  • Communicate change status and close out requests; support root cause analysis.

With the world’s foremost technologists, engineers, and OEMs, we’re accelerating the world’s transformation to eMobility.Products and solutions range from the existing portfolio of Power Electronics - BorgWarner.Job purposeThe Problem Resolution Management Engineer role coordinates engineering efforts to work on solving issues and processing changes to the product along its lifecycle in development of traction inverters for electric vehicles, while balancing the team’s efforts, to achieve the goal of zero defects at product launch. This role requires working together with Program Leads, Engineering, and interfaces frequently with the customer.Key responsibilitiesMaintain communication and develop a good working relationship with the customer/supplier; establish and maintain the communication link in terms of Defects Status between the engineering department at the customer and the BorgWarner project teamsImplement internal and external change management activities according to BorgWarner process frameworkDetermine all the project's change management activitiesDecide on change requests and track them towards resolutionCommunicate change request status and close out the requestsDefine strategy for project’s problem/defect managementAnalyze the defects and plan their correctionsTrack the defect resolutionClassify defects and assign priority and severity to themClose out defect reports and analyze problem trendsDetermine impact of the problem to the projectSupport the project team in root cause analysis and lessons learned archiveWhat we’re looking forBachelor’s in Electrical, Mechatronics or Software Engineering. Master’s degree in related technical field preferred.Automotive industry experience with progressive increases in responsibility, experience in Systems engineeringGood working knowledge of software development lifecycle.Knowledge of Polarion, JIRA or similar toolsUnderstanding of power electronics, electric motors and controlsUnderstanding of effort estimation and work trackingDemonstrate experience of working in high pressure environments in previous roles.Analytical, technical, and statistical skills for root cause analysis, methods and tools (DFMEA, FMEA, FMEDA, 8-D, and FTA analysis)Experience in A-SPICEFluency in English is required.
