Job summary

Avid in Poland is seeking a Principal Software Development Engineer (Databases) to join a remote Poland-based team. You will design, implement, test, and optimize media software engines, focusing on data integrity, performance, and scalability in virtualized environments.

You will collaborate across sites, translate requirements into detailed designs, and drive complex projects with engineers worldwide. Fluency in English and deep C/C++ expertise are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• Extensive experience in C and C++ (STL, Boost, generics, algorithms, data structures).
• Experience with MS Windows Server/Cluster environments, Apache and virtualization such as VMware.
• PowerShell scripting and CI/CD using GitHub.
• Knowledge of REST concepts and architectures; ability to analyze complex systems.
• Ability to optimize performance, scalability, and stability of products.
• Ability to perform requirements analysis and coordinate distributed teams.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Understand complex end-to-end workflows and interactions between web and backend services.
• Translate specifications into detailed designs and drive implementation with teams.
• Coordinate development and deliverables across multiple sites and teams worldwide.
