Job summary

Opole University of Technology in Opole, Poland invites applications for a Postdoc position in environmental engineering, mining and energy. The successful candidate will conduct advanced research and build international collaborations with industry partners, focusing on energy use in water and wastewater management and energy security of critical infrastructure.

Required is a PhD in Environmental Engineering, Mining and Power Engineering, chemistry or related field, plus a strong publication

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in Environmental Engineering, Mining and Power Engineering, chemistry or a related discipline.
• Experience working as a researcher or teaching staff member at a university abroad.
• Publication record in a top quartile journal (Q1) in Environmental Science & Engineering, Energy Science & Engineering, Water Resources, or Multidisciplinary Sciences.
• Experience in energy management in water and wastewater sectors; energy efficiency and management.
• Knowledge of small-scale hydropower, hydraulic energy in water supply, and biogas from wastewater for energy generation.
• Experience with power supply security for water and wastewater infrastructure, including distributed generation and blackout resilience.
• Experience in managing projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct advanced research in environmental engineering, mining and energy.
• Analyze energy efficiency, renewable energy, and power supply security for critical infrastructure.
• Participate in research projects and prepare proposals.
• Analyze results and publish scientific papers.
• Present findings at conferences and collaborate with research teams and industry partners.
• Carry out other scientific and organizational duties of the unit.
