Job summary

Nextomation, a leader in designing, building and implementing state-of-the-art production lines and testers for customers around the world, invites an automation engineer to join our growing team. You will implement and modify software for controllers and operator panels, design software to project standards and timelines, configure devices, prepare user manuals and update as-built documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in a similar role, ideally automotive.
• Proficient with S7-1500 PLCs (TIA Portal); Allen-Bradley is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of robot programming (Kuka, Fanuc).
• English fluency for clear communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities:

• Implementation and modification of software according to received assumptions (controller, operator panel)
• Software design based on applicable standards, budget and project schedule
• Configuration of devices (servo drives, cameras, scanners, electric screwdrivers, etc.)
• Preparation of user manuals
• Updating as-built documentation
• Work on commissioning of machines at both locations and at the customer’s site

Requirements:

• 2 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in the automotive industry
• Programming of S7-1500 PLC controllers (TIA Portal), Allen-Bradley additionally welcome
• Basics of robot programming (Kuka, Fanuc)
• Knowledge of English allowing for fluent communication
• Willingness to work with an interdisciplinary team
• Proactivity and dynamism in action
• Willingness to travel up to 40% of the year (domestic and international)
