Job summary

Akuna Capital is seeking a Platform Engineer to own and deliver cloud‑first platform initiatives. You will collaborate with Trading, Development, Infrastructure, and Operations teams to design and implement scalable, secure cloud solutions and automation across hybrid‑cloud environments.

You will deploy and manage Kubernetes (EKS/on‑prem), implement IaC with Terraform, and drive CI/CD pipelines while ensuring production systems are highly available and secure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in CS/Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in Platform/Cloud/SRE/DevOps or related infra roles.
• Hybrid from Chicago office or fully remote.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect preferred.
• Deep Kubernetes experience in production: on‑prem and EKS.
• Strong cloud infra design on AWS; knowledge of GCP a plus.
• Automation with Terraform IaC; modular development; CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong Linux admin and troubleshooting; scripting with Python/Bash.

Responsibilities

• Own projects and drive ownership of platform initiatives.
• Design and implement cloud solutions and governance.
• Automate infrastructure management and deployment pipelines.
• Monitor and optimize hybrid‑cloud environments for reliability.
• Evaluate architectures and provide actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate with engineering, ops, and business teams to deliver scalable platforms.
