Job summary

OpenRouter is seeking a Customer Engineer to serve as the technical quarterback in enterprise sales cycles. You will partner with account executives, conduct discovery, deliver compelling demos, and architect AI solutions that address prospects’ challenges.

You’ll operate at the intersection of sales, engineering, and product, building demo environments and feeding product feedback to engineering. A hands-on, customer-first technologist will thrive in this role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Sales Engineer / Solutions Engineer / similar in B2B SaaS/API/Infrastructure.
• Strong technical background with software development or cloud experience.
• Excellent presentation skills and ability to explain complex concepts to varied audiences.
• Customer-first mindset focused on helping customers succeed.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery calls to understand AI/ML architecture and requirements.
• Develop expertise in OpenRouter products and solutions for business problems.
• Assess technical fit including API integration, model requirements, data residency, and compliance.
• Design and deliver customized product demos for specific use cases.
• Create demos to showcase capabilities and manage PoC environments.
• Partner with AEs throughout the sales cycle and respond to technical requests.
• Support contract negotiations on technical terms, SLAs, and timelines.
• Provide product feedback to eng/prod teams and help roadmap prioritization.
