PROJECT: NPD Quality Engineer
Together with our Partner, the leading global manufacturer of engineered access solutions, we invite you to discuss the role of NPD Quality Engineer.
Aim Of The Role
The aim is to oversee and manage all quality activities related to new projects, ensuring that new products meet internal quality standards and customer requirements from concept through launch and stabilization after start of production.
Scope Of Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of quality planning and risk management processes, including APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and SPC, in alignment with IATF 16949 requirements.
- Coordinate supplier quality activities for NPD projects, including PPAP submissions, requalification processes, and supplier audits, ensuring readiness and compliance before product launch.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams Design, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Project Management to identify and mitigate quality risks during the development and launch phases.
- Monitor and validate product and process performance through capability studies, reliability testing, and process validation to ensure readiness for serial production.
- Develop, maintain, and control project-specific quality documentation, including Control Plans, Inspection Standards, Lessons Learned, and reports for internal and customer use.
- Support customer quality reviews and audits during NPD projects, providing evidence of compliance and proactive management of quality risks.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within NPD projects, using data analysis and lessons learned to optimize product and process quality and prevent recurrence of issues.
- Act as an internal trainer and quality advisor within NPD, sharing best practices, promoting a "voice of the customer" approach, and ensuring team alignment on quality expectations.
Requirements
- Higher education degree in a technical field
- 3 or more years of Quality experience within a manufacturing environment
- 5 - 10 years of total working experience. Preferably within a Manufacturing/Operations environment.
- Language: Communicative English skills (written and spoken)
- Knowledge of quality management systems ISO 9001 / IATF 16949
- A clear and practical understanding of the quality standard requirements and the use of methodology such as FMEA, PDCA, MSA, 8D, SPC, Poka-yoke, etc.
- Ability to define and coordinate corrective and preventive action plans
- Excellent analytical skills with a strong ability to identify and resolve problems
- Strong communication skills.
