ALTEN Polska in Kraków is seeking a Cybersecurity Network Security Specialist to support safe execution of priorities by ensuring robust network security controls and 24/7 monitoring. You will collaborate with the Network Security Consultancy team across global engagements and contribute to continuous improvement.

The role requires deep knowledge of firewall, IDPS, WAF, and incident response, with strong communication skills and a proactive, collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Experience with data networks and security design in regulated environments.
• Experience gathering data from multiple sources (business inputs, IT systems, spreadsheets).
• Ability to translate findings into actionable insights for stakeholders.
• Experience preparing reports for senior audiences.
• Experience managing stakeholder expectations.

In this role, you will:

The Cybersecurity team is part of the IT Technology function of Digital Business Services, led by the group CISO. The team’s purpose is to enable safe execution of the bank’s priorities by building strong resilience against cyberattacks and providing 24/7x365 monitoring, detection, prevention, and response.

There are 4 other network security specialists within the Network Security Consultancy team, each supporting various network security related projects and engagements globally.

• Uses their networking and network security experience and knowledge to review Business and IT projects and provide advice and guidance, ensuring network security control requirements are satisfied.
• Identifies opportunities to improve network security posture based on an understanding of current control and technology environment.
• Good understanding of network security threats and risks, able to identify areas of network security risk and propose solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience interacting with technical leaders and various layers of management considered a plus.
• Able to analyse network and cybersecurity data (e.g. system logs) to support decision making and evidence control effectiveness.
• Ability to build connections and work collaboratively across boundaries.
• Willingness to continuously learn and share learnings with others.

Customers / Stakeholders

• Develop and maintain relationships within the Cybersecurity Network Security team.
• Develop and maintain relationships with the wider Cybersecurity Technology and Engineering and Cybersecurity Operations teams.
• Develop and maintain relationships with other key internal stakeholder groups such as Resilience Risk and Connectivity.

Operational Effectiveness & Control

• Proactively address issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Continually reassess the network security risks inherent in the business taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.
• Ensure compliance with all Group, GSC, company and department policies and procedures, constantly updating knowledge and understanding of such, raising questions and concerns with team leads or managers as necessary, and taking personal responsibility for abiding as required.
• Ensure that all activities are in accordance with Compliance standards.
• Maintain internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.

Key Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Detailed understanding of network design, firewall, IDPS, content filtering, load balancing, DDoS, NAC, WAF, network segmentation technologies.
• Good understanding of network security threats and risks.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience interacting with technical leaders and various layers of management considered a plus.
• Ability to build connections and work collaboratively across boundaries.
• Willingness to continuously learn and share learnings with others.
• Proficient with Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong customer focus with a drive to deliver standards of service to internal clients at least equivalent to external providers.
• Able to work with many simultaneous tasks in a pressurized, time-sensitive environment.
• Able to positively challenge others without having authority or seniority over them.

Desirable Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or Cybersecurity
• Industry qualifications (CISSP, CISA, CISM, CCNA, CCIE etc)
• Scripting ability in python, perl, or alternative language
• Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and security
• Familiarity with security operations activities and tooling (incident response, SIEM tools etc.)

Experience

• Experience of data networks and security design and engineering, preferably acquired in a highly regulated environment.
• Experience of data gathering from variety of sources including inputs from business, offline spreadsheets, IT systems, etc.
• Experience of the application of critical thinking and of articualting findings from analysing complex data
• Preparation of reports and presentations for consumption by senior audiences
• Experience in managing expectations of stakeholders
