Job summary

Akamai seeks a Network Software Test Engineer to drive the full software development life cycle for networking platforms, including Network Operating Systems, Linux Networking, and advanced monitoring.

As a Software Development Engineer in Test II, you will design tests and frameworks, collaborate across teams, and ensure performance and reliability within the Akamai system while learning our distributed stack.

Qualifications

• Development experience using Python.
• Familiar with Linux environment and internals.
• Experience with DevOps and CI/CD processes and tools.
• Knowledge of L2/L3 networks (switching, routing).
• Understanding of agile software development lifecycle.
• Excellent written and verbal English.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing tests and frameworks for scalable, secure software while ensuring reliability and performance optimization
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective communication and code development
• Testing and monitoring software performance within the Akamai system
• Learning about our distributed systems, products, and the technical stack as necessary for your role
• Contributing to internal research processes, methodologies, and approaches to create and share best practices
