Job summary

Akamai Technologies in Kraków is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our SSE QA team, focusing on high-quality testing of complex, distributed systems. You will design and execute the QA process, automate tests with PyTest, and integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines, while exploring AI-assisted approaches to boost productivity.

The role requires deep knowledge of Python, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and Big Data technologies, with hands-on testing of large-scale

Qualifications

• Solid QA testing experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Python, shell scripting, SQL, and REST API.
• Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, ArgoWF, ArgoCD, ClickHouse, S3, Kafka, Terraform, Kibana, Grafana.
• Experience testing BigData backend distributed systems.
• Experience with Cloud Platforms AWS, GCP, Azure.
• Experience with AI tools such as Claude-code and Copilot.
• Good understanding of networking protocols and technologies (HTTP, HTTPS, DNS).

Responsibilities

• Execute the complete QA process: collect specifications, create test plans, automate tests with PyTest, and integrate into CI/CD pipelines.
• Create and apply new approaches, including AI, to improve testing productivity and efficiency.

As a SDET, you will be part of a scrum team. Working to support high quality practices, plan and build functional, integration, system and acceptance tests, both manual and automated. You'll be a key part of the team responsible for building a world class SSE solution.

As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test, you will be responsible for:

• Executing the complete QA process: collecting specifications, creating test plans, automating tests with PyTest, and integrating into CICD pipelines.
• Creating and applying new approaches and concepts, including AI, to improve the productivity and efficiency of testing practices.
• Designing testing tools, which include developing scripts to enhance regression testing.

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a solid QA testing experience
• Have an advanced knowledge of scripting languages including Python, shell script, SQL, and REST API
• Have advanced knowledge of Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, ArgoWF, ArgoCD, Clickhouse, S3, Kafka, Terraform, Kibana, and Grafana
• Demonstrate experience in testing of BigData Backend Distributed systems
• Have experience working with Cloud Platform(s) AWS, GCP, Azure
• Have experience working with AI tools such as Clude-code, Co-Pilot
• Have a good understanding on networking protocols and technologies (especially HTTP, HTTPS, DNS)
