Sopra Steria Polska is looking for an experienced Microsoft SQL Server Administrator (Infrastructure Administrator) to join our team serving a French client.

This role is based in Katowice and requires commuting to the office; candidates from the Silesian area will be considered.

You will administer Windows Server and SQL Server, automate tasks with Ansible, manage patching, backups, migrations and work in a 2nd line support capacity.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Windows Server administration and support.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2016.
• Experience with infrastructure automation using Ansible.
• Proven experience in patch management and system maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with backup and restore procedures.
• Experience in planning and executing system and database migrations.
• Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring and incident management.
• Experience providing 2nd Line Support in enterprise environments.
• Understanding of security best practices, user access management, and compliance requirements.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Experience working within SLA-driven environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with customers and technical teams.
• Ability to create and maintain technical documentation.
• English on min. B2 level.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Microsoft SQL Server Administrator (Infrastructure Administrator)to join Sopra Steria Polska to cooperate with a team for our French client.

Note that we can only offer cooperation to peoplearelocatedinSilesian area and are willing to commute to our office in Katowice.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain Windows Server and Microsoft SQL Server environments.
• Perform system patching, upgrades, and security-related activities.
• Manage backup and restore processes and support infrastructure migration projects.
• Automate operational and administrative tasks using Ansible.
• Monitor infrastructure and ensure the stability and availability of production environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents as part of 2nd Line Support, in line with SLA requirements.
• Manage user accounts, access permissions, and secure access to IT services.
• Implement, test, and support new infrastructure solutions and system enhancements.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to deliver infrastructure services and projects.
• Identify opportunities for optimization and continuous improvement within the IT environment.
• Contribute to effort estimations, technical assessments, and infrastructure-related project activities.
