Job summary

Corning is seeking an experienced R&D Measurement Systems Development Supervisor to lead a metrology engineering team. You will oversee development, integration, and industrialization of advanced testing solutions for co-packaged optics connectivity.

The role requires hands-on experience with sub-micron metrology, AOI, interferometers, and precision motion platforms, and collaboration across global teams to transfer capabilities into manufacturing.

Qualifications

Master’s degree or PhD in Optics, Photonics, Physics, Micromechanics, Metrology, Automation or related field.
Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role leading project teams.
Experience in system development, automation, integration, and scale-up of technical solutions.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise a team focused on development of measurement methods for micro-optics.
Drive metrology solution development for R&D and manufacturing applications.
Collaborate with global research groups, suppliers and cross-functional teams to transfer capabilities to production.
Ensure measurement systems align with roadmaps and business needs.
Stay current with metrology tech and industry best practices.
Research trends in fiber-optic and micro-optic tech for innovation.
Support patent filings, publications, and presentations.
Contribute to robust, scalable, high-throughput measurement systems for manufacturing.
