Job summary

Corning Incorporated in Poland seeks a highly skilled R&D Measurement Systems Development Supervisor to lead metrology hardware development and integration for co-packaged optics connectivity. You will supervise a team of experts, drive end-to-end system development from concept to production transfer.

The role demands expertise in sub-micron metrology, vision-based inspection, interferometers, and precision motion platforms, with strong project management and cross-functional collaboration

Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Optics, Photonics, Physics, Micromechanics, Metrology, Automation or related field.
• 3+ years in a supervisory role and leading project teams.
• Experience with system development and scale-up in R&D or manufacturing.
• Strong project management: timelines, budgets, resources.
• Experience with sub-micron metrology and advanced measurement systems.
• Knowledge of cleanroom ISO standards is a plus.
• Fluency in English; Polish proficiency beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team focused on developing measurement methods for micro-optics.
• Drive integration and implementation of metrology solutions for R&D and manufacturing.
• Collaborate with global research, suppliers, and cross-functional teams for production transfer.
• Ensure measurement systems align with roadmaps and business needs.
• Stay updated on metrology trends and best practices.
• Assess emerging fiber-optic and micro-optic technologies for innovation.
• Support patent filings, publications, and technical presentations.
• Develop robust, scalable high-throughput measurement systems for manufacturing.
